Note: we have been running this forum on Lighttpd. How is the performance?

I don't find any speed issue with this site. I have never used lighttpd because I am not comfortable with rewrite rule writing by myself.

I can find ready made rewrite rule available for wordpress, bbpress, pligg, gallery2 etc but for SMF i don't find any rewrite rule. Also I see this forum is not using fancy url

Could you please explain when should we opt for lighty server and not apache?

We have moved to cpanel host because our previous hosting company was creating problem.
